Disney is Honoring the Military With Free Theme Park Admission in 2009!
You read that right! If you are active or retired military, then you have quite an opportunity here. Disney World and Disneyland both are offering FREE, multi-day passes to you!
This offer has been appropriately named "Disney's Armed Forces Salute". With this offer, active and retired U.S. military personnel, including active and retired members of the United States Coast Guard and activated members of the National Guard or Reservists, can enjoy complimentary, multi-day admission into Disney's U.S. theme parks, great rates at select Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort hotels, and additional special ticket offers for family members and friends.
They have a special reason for making such a grand offer. As stated on their site, "For so many of the men and women who serve in our U.S. military, time together with their families is cause enough for celebration," said Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. "We are grateful for their service and hope 'Disney's Armed Forces Salute' will allow our troops to create wonderful, magical memories with their family and friends."
Now the offer that is available depends on which park you plan on visiting. The offer for Disneyland is
available through June 12, 2009, while the offer for Walt Disney World extends through December 23, 2009. So if you can't make it to Disneyland in the next few months, you can still travel to Florida to take advantage of this awesome deal!
Disneyland in California is offering each active or retired member of the U.S. military one complimentary three-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" Park Hopper ticket valid for admission to both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure parks. Until June 12th, active or retired U.S. military personnel are also able to make a one-time purchase of adult or child three-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion" Park Hopper tickets for up to five family members or friends for the price of an adult 1-Day Park Hopper ticket. I'm not sure what that price is, but you're essentially getting three days for the price of one.
Walt Disney World in Florida is doing something slightly different. Each active or retired member of the U.S. military may obtain one complimentary 5-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" ticket with Park Hopper and Water Park Fun & More options. So you get two additional days and can get into all of the water parks!
The Walt Disney World ticket is valid for five days of admission into the four Walt Disney World theme parks, plus a total of five visits to a choice of a Disney water park, DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park or certain other attractions. During this offer period, active or retired U.S. military personnel may also make a one-time purchase of up to a maximum of five 5-Day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion" tickets (one theme park per day) for $99 per ticket, plus tax, for family members or friends. Although this ticket for family members and friends does not include either the Park Hopper or Water Park Fun & More options, this ticket can be upgraded to add either such option, or both, for an additional $25, plus tax, per option.
Can you say Golden Opportunity? What a wonderful chance Disney is giving our finest men and women to take a break and really enjoy time with their families at either Disneyland or Disney World.

Good stuff....these really are the heros....glad to see that they're doing this. Great of you to recognize others who are recognizing them.
This is great! I just read yesterday about Disney Land offering payment plans for seasonal passes - and was going to check out if Disney World was doing the same thing. Now this! I'm reblogging this because we have a lot of military in our area. Thanks for such a thorough explanation of the plan! ~ Sharon
Larry: Yes they are! We would not be the country that we are if it weren't for our men and women in the military. I just want to get the word out so that everyone who is eligible for this offer knows about it and has the chance to take advantage of it :)
If only they were including veterans, too ...
Sharon: You're welcome! And please feel free to share this with anyone who might be able to take advantage of this awesome deal!
All I have to say is WOW, what a great gesture. I bet there are a lot of Vets and active personel that have never been to Disney and now will get the opportunity to go!!

I did not know this. I'll pass the word.
Maria & Jim -- This is really great --- you know how much I try to support our troops. I didn't know about this, though. Thanks for sharing.
Christopher: This is an awesome gesture! I'm not sure that Vets will be able to take advantage of this deal, but active and retired military can.
Zane: I certainly hope that as many military personnel as possible take advantage of this offer.
This is such a great, commendable idea! Good for them. I hope it is a huge success. Take care
Wendy: Thanks for helping get the word out :)
Liz: Anytime! We know that you are a big supporter of our troops, and now Disney is proving that they are as well.
Kristin: I agree! I'm sure that this will be a giant success for them!
Jim & Maria,
