Every year Folly Beach holds a Christmas Party for local children a few weeks before Christmas.
It seems that this event has been taking place for over 60 years, but I have heard very little about it in the past.
This year's Children's Christmas Party will be on December 11th, 2009 at the Folly River Park, with Santa arriving promptly at 6 pm.
Every single child will have an opportunity to sit with Santa and tell him all their Christmas wishes! Each child will then receive a stocking filled with candy and fruit, and also a special present from Santa himself.
And Mom and Dad, don't forget to bring along that camera to make sure you capture every special moment!

Hi Jim:
I know of one little boy in Charleston who is looking forward to this next month!!!
Wow, what an adorable tradition.....but, fruit filled in the stocking? That is great, but I could just imagine the WI kids getting that ! LOL!
Toula: He would be, but we don't live on Folly Beach.
Kristin: When I was growing up, we would get candy and an apple and orange in our stocking every year. Maybe it's a southern thing? But it seems normal to me :)
Maria & Jim ---- thanks for this information --- I did not know about it ---really sounds great.

Liz: This is a terrific event for all those little ones on Folly!
